this summer was...really really amazing. i went to california in late june, early april, first for a family reunion in san jose, then i spent four days in san fransisco, and travelled up the coast to the Pacific Ocean, where I explored the forests and mountains, ending up in a small town isolated on the coast called Fort Bragg. I got to sleep up on a cliff next to the ocean with deer walking around. to get to california, i took a train all the way across the country, but i flew back cause it's actually cheeper.
for the fourth of july i took a bus out to colorado and spent some time in boulder. Its a really nice town, much like my hometown, in fact designed by the same architect. i felt at home there. had a good time and went to the national gathering out past Nederland and Clark. that was amazing, and im glad i didn't get discouraged by all the pessimists and rumours i encountered in Boulder. The tribe is very much alive and strong and well.
I also spent some wonderful summer days and summer nights in my hometown burlington, on the waterfront and around town. ten days of perfect june, and really wondeful times. i got lost in montreal after me and S- got drunk and couldn't find the car we were gonna sleep in, so we slept in church bushs. wandering montreal streets and closed malls cold and tired but could not find the car. it was an adventure. also went to Block Island, off Rhode Island, which is a quaint little beach town. another small road trip to a local gathering in Granville, and now winter's coming soon so i've moved back into my aunts house. i hope your summer has been as excellent as mine.
